Is this in preparation for the newest member of your band? Are you going to tell us what "it is?" :) Do you know? I just noticed the progress report at the bottom of your page, way to go!I'm right behind you ... 16 weeks behind, to be exact.

OMG. Really? So cool!!!! What adorable progeny you guys will make! Seriously that totally freaked me out but is such good news.

"It" is a girl, BTW. And yes, I'm taking off starting Thanksgiving break. Currently planning on doing freelance writing afterwards (one client so far!) so I probably won't be back to this job, to which I say good riddance.

You aren't going to try to work from home AND take care of the baby, are you? I'd say that is nearly impossible when they are so young and demand 100% attention 99% of the time. But kudos if you can swing it!

steve - i don't plan on doing anything besides taking care of the baby for the first couple months. i've heard from other work-at-home-moms though, that after that it gets much easier to work during nap time. also daddy is going to be prime care-giver on fridays so i expect to do a lot of stuff then. i'm only planning on really working maybe 15 hours a week for a while. then if we need to add part-time daycare at some point we will. i've long wanted to do freelance so i'm going to take this chance while i can. if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, but at least i tried.

so far i really prefer the work i do for the cool little non-profit i freelance for as opposed to my boring IT job. hopefully i can find some more great clients!

Hey, sorry if I sounded so negative! I just didn't want you to get your hopes (especially financially) too high. I never realized how much time a baby takes until I had one, haha. It does get easier as they get older (although when they are less than two months old), they actually sleep MORE then. The first week you will think you gave birth to a cat!!!! Anyways, I hope you can find the balance. I wish we could.
