It's been a long time in coming. And that is 100% my fault. You see, I forgot to check my rocktastica email for a really, really, really, really long time. Of course it was overflowing with fanmail. Anyway, greetings from October 2009, rock music fans!!!! And get a load of this one:
Write a song about your home state or the state you live in.
I'm thinking of teaming up with Rhett Miller and the Dixie Chicks on this one. Or Dave Matthews (oh yeah, I said it). Or Bon Jovi. Depending on which state I pick.
But not really. Because as you all know in this contest you can only team up with yourself (I cheated once but that doesn't make it right). You also have to make a simple one-track recording. Winner gets to be on the cover of the past winners compilation record, which will include the following stellar tracks of yesteryear, probably performed by one of the stars of American Idol:
Ostrich
Yo, the lady who
Cardboard on the Dance Floor
I Ain't Afraid to Love You

p.s., Yes there is a little leeway on the one track rule. If you are having serious volume discrepancy issues then two tracks is okay. But no producing other than adjusting the volume or the "level" as you sound aficionados say.

Yay it's back!! I could probably write the lyrics but I don't have the major ability to write the music. Now what rhymes with Jersey besides pleurisy?
Abby, I love you. I, alas, cannot write mu-sak either. I'm assuming those who can may also most likely be gifted with lyrical words as well. However, in the case you are not...Anyone wanna team?
